Truly unlimited — used fairly.

Last updated: June 2026

Softnet Network plans are designed to give every home and business across Surat a consistently fast experience. This Fair Usage Policy (“FUP”) ensures that a small minority of users does not degrade service quality for everyone else on the shared fiber network.

1. Plan Speeds

The advertised speed of your plan (e.g. 30 / 50 / 80 Mbps) is the maximum line speed delivered to your ONT. Actual throughput depends on your Wi-Fi router, device, time of day, and the server you are connecting to.

2. Unlimited Data

All Softnet home plans include truly unlimited data — there is no monthly data cap and no post-FUP speed reduction for typical residential usage including 4K streaming, gaming, video calls and work-from-home.

3. What Counts as Abnormal Use

Residential plans are intended for personal, household use. Activities that may be classified as abnormal include:

  • Running commercial servers, hosting services or public Wi-Fi hotspots on a home plan.
  • Reselling, sharing or distributing the Service to third parties.
  • Continuous peer-to-peer seeding or automated traffic that materially impacts neighbouring users.
  • Use that violates the Acceptable Use clause of our Terms & Conditions.

4. Action on Abnormal Use

If abnormal use is detected, we may contact you to discuss a suitable business plan, temporarily prioritise other customers’ traffic, or — in repeated or serious cases — suspend the Service pursuant to our Terms.

5. Network Management

To maintain a healthy network, we may apply standard traffic engineering practices, deploy security filters against DDoS and malware traffic, and prioritise time-sensitive traffic such as voice and video calls during peak hours. These measures are applied uniformly and never to discriminate against lawful content.

6. Changes

This FUP may be updated to reflect network conditions and regulatory guidance. The latest version will always be available on this page.
